ESCOM Support, Award, and Free Membership
As an outcome of the ESCOM Regional Development Initiative in 2017, the first and now the second conference is organized to promote research and enhance communication within the Western Balkan community and with international researchers and practitioners. ESCOM supports the conference by giving the ESCOM Early Career Research Award.
ESCOM Early Career Researcher Award will be given to PhD or Master student for a high-quality proceedings paper in the field of music perception and cognition. A student should be the first author of a multi-authored paper. If you would like to be considered for the award you would have to submit a proceedings paper up to September 10, 2022, and send a copy of your student document as well. The best paper will be selected based on review ratings and selection by the ESCOM Award Selection Committee, consisting of selected ESCOM members: Andrea Schiavio (ESCOM President), Renee Timmers (Past-President), Suvi Saarikallio (Vice-President), and Niels Chr. Hansen (ESCOM General Secretary).
At PAM-IE Belgrade 2019 conference, ESCOM Early Career Researcher Award was given to Johanna N. Wilson (University of Jyvaskyla, Finland) and Honorary mention to Đorđe Stepanović (Faculty of Music, University of Arts in Belgrade, Serbia).

1) students (both Conference participants as well non-Conference participants) regularly enrolled in a university course or equivalent are eligible to obtain a free ESCOM membership (and renew it every year proving the status of their studentship).
2) other Conference participants (non-students) are eligible to obtain a one-year, non-renewable, free ESCOM membership should they organize or participate in an ESCOM-related event (in this case, that event would be the PAM-IE Belgrade 2022 conference).
